40 Easter eggs donated to Charity

A Wolverhampton-based children’s charity enjoyed a fantastic start to Easter as 40 eggs were donated to them. Let Us Play, of Shaw Road, provides sports, arts, play and outings for children with special needs and disabilities in Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas.

They were presented with the eggs by company DJR Marketing, who each year selects a charity to support as part of their commitment to social responsibility. DJR Marketing Director Daniel Reilly said: “We’ve always sponsored a charity and luckily Let Us Play started working in the same business park as ourselves. Kim, the owner of Let Us Play spoke to the staff of DJR Marketing, and after we had heard about the wonderful things they do for children, we unanimously voted to support this charity. We took part in a number of events and found the cause absolutely fantastic. We couldn’t wait to get involved.”

Clare McKen, of Let Us Play, said: “Let Us Play is a local, independently funded charity that provides craft, sport and play activities to children with special needs and disabilities in Wolverhampton. “It is so important to us that we are supported by local communities and local businesses like, DJR Marketing, to ensure that we are able to continue to offer our sessions to the wonderful children we have the pleasure of working with. Daniel Reilly makes a contribution to our core running costs each month which enables us to plan, promote and communicate our activities to our funders and members alike. In a local charity like ourselves each small donation can make a big difference.”

Su Patel, Operations Manager for DJR Marketing, said: “I have been a volunteer for Let Us Play for about two and a half years and come to realise how important events like this are for the children.

“Kim and the team do an amazing job and raising awareness like this allows their team to carry out all the different activities and workshops they offer the kids.”

Let Us Play was set up in 2003 by a group of parents with disabled children. They receive funding from both national and local organisations and all money that is spent comes from donations from individuals, charitable trusts and foundations.
